Ducts carry air from the HVAC system to each room and back. In most homes they run through the attic or crawl space, where the insulation wrap can tear, flexible ducts can sag or kink, and joints can work loose.
Most duct findings are repairs to a few sections. Ducts that are worn throughout may need to be replaced.

What affects the price
- How much duct
- Fixing one section costs less than rewrapping or replacing many runs.
- Access
- Ducts in a low crawl space or a cramped attic take longer to reach and work on.
- Type of duct
- Flexible duct is usually quicker to repair or replace than rigid metal duct.
- Insulation
- Ducts in unheated spaces like attics and crawl spaces need an insulation wrap. Replacing missing wrap adds material and time.
Common questions
Why is one room always too hot or too cold?
It's often the ducts: a long or undersized run, a crushed or disconnected section, or air that isn't balanced between rooms. Poor insulation in that room can also play a part.
Do my ducts need to be cleaned?
Usually only when there's visible buildup, mold or pests, or after dusty renovation work. Changing the air filter on time keeps the ducts cleaner.
