Driveway, walkway and patio repair cost
Repairing cracked, settled or uneven concrete and pavers, and fixing trip hazards.
Minor cracks in driveways, walkways and patios are among the most common exterior findings, and most of the time the report says to monitor them. Concrete cracks as it cures and as the ground moves with the seasons.
Repairs are needed when sections sink, lift or break up, when a crack creates a trip hazard, or when the surface slopes water toward the house.

What affects the price
- Patch or replace
- Sealing cracks and grinding down a raised edge costs far less than tearing out and repouring a section.
- Area
- Concrete and pavers are priced by area, so a full driveway costs much more than a walkway section.
- Why it moved
- If soil washout or tree roots caused the problem, fixing the cause may be part of the job.
- Material
- Concrete, asphalt and pavers are repaired differently. Pavers can often be lifted and reset.
Common questions
Do all driveway cracks need repair?
No. Hairline and small cracks are usually cosmetic. Watch for cracks that widen, edges that lift into a trip hazard, or sections that sink, and repair those.
Will a concrete patch match the old driveway?
Usually not exactly. New concrete is lighter at first and weathers over time, so patched sections often stand out for a while.
